S-UBG GROUP SELLS SHARES IN MOMENTUM TECHNOLOGIES GMB

Aachen, 5 January 2022 – The venture fund of the Aachen-based S-UBG Group has sold its shares in Momentum Technologies GmbH together with the other shareholders. Momentum, a young mechanical engineering company from Hückelhoven, develops, manufactures and sells next-generation drum motor technology. The buyer is NGI A/S from Denmark, which intends to access further market potential with the takeover of Momentum.

Another long-term commitment by S-UBG

During the almost eight-year investment partnership with the S-UBG Group, Momentum has succeeded in making a sustainable market entry; in one area it has even established itself as a technology leader. “It was a great pleasure for us to accompany Momentum on this successful path to technology leadership,” says Bernhard Kugel, CEO of S-UBG AG. “With the early-stage financing that we provided together with several network partners, we were able to develop innovative and particularly energy-efficient motors and prepare the company for the next stages of growth.”

Expert in drive and conveyor technology

Founded in 2014, Momentum supplies drum motors and driven rollers to the food industry, logistics and many other sectors. Today, the company is recognised as a technology leader in the field of synchronous drum motors.

Momentum’s management was already active in the market for drum motors before the company was founded: With the help of the investors and their extensive expertise in the industry and technology, they managed to build a successful business within a very short space of time. “NGI A/S is now the ideal partner for Momentum for the next growth steps,” says Beate Federsel, Investment Manager at S-UBG, who has been closely involved with the company for many years.

NGI plans to expand its product portfolio in the area of food-safe conveyor components

NGI is a leading provider of hygienic components such as levelling feet, bearing housings and rollers. With the acquisition of Momentum, the company plans to access further market potential. With Momentum’s drum motors, NGI will expand its product range of food-safe conveyor components.
