Björn Lang
Björn Lang initially got to know our early-stage fund TVF from a startup perspective as the founder and CEO of physiosense. He is now a Managing Partner at our partner fund TVF, where he shares his experience, network, and expertise with founding teams and the broader startup ecosystem. He studied industrial engineering at RWTH Aachen University and SKKU in Seoul. In his free time, he enjoys being active outdoors—whether hiking or mountain biking—and likes to try his hand at DIY projects.
Pascal Bless
Pascal Bless worked as an entrepreneur during and after his Economics studies at the University of St. Gallen, then he switched fields and has been working as an investor ever since, focussing on digital pioneers. He appreciates acting as a sparring partner for start-up teams and helping them to succeed. In his free time, he finds balance in cooking and enjoys climbing the occasional mountain.
Dr. Lars Diehl-Gussen
Lars found his way into the world of venture capital after completing his degree in industrial engineering and his phD in production technology at RWTH Aachen University. The choice-Cologner resident and carnival fan is excited about new technologies and their application on the shop floor and throughout the company.
Dr. Sarah Buchholz
After completing her PhD in Human Genetics and Neurobiology at the University of Cologne and conducting research at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Sarah’s path led her into the VC world — to the intersection of science, innovation and entrepreneurship. As an Investment Associate at TVF, she evaluates Life Science, BioTech and MedTech startups and supports the transfer of scientific breakthroughs into scalable businesses. In her spare time, you’ll find her on the padel court, lost in a good book or exploring new places.
Jan Linzner
After several years of professional experience in the financial sector, he entered the startup world through his work at a B2B startup. Following his Master’s degree in Business Analytics at the University of Cologne, where he focused on leveraging the potential of data for the venture capital industry, he now supports the TVF team as an Investment Analyst. In his free time, he enjoys road cycling, exploring the Cologne area, or trying out new cafés in his neighborhood.

Bernhard Kugel
Bernhard Kugel has been a private equity partner to successful entrepreneurial teams for more than 25 years and supports S-UBG’s portfolio companies as a board member, co-partner and strategic advisor. Originally graduating from RWTH Aachen University with a master degree in business administration, he now teaches in the MBA Management and Entrepreneurship programme at FH Aachen. As Managing Partner, he is also responsible for the early-stage investments of the partner fund TVF. In his private life, he enjoys travelling, always with his camera in his luggage.
Dr. Ansgar Schleicher
Ansgar Schleicher holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and has extensive experience as a project manager, development director, sales manager, entrepreneur, CEO in a global tech company, and investor. He enjoys sharing his valuable experiences and knowledge with enthusiastic and diverse management teams as a coach. Furthermore, as Managing Partner he is responsible for the early-stage-investment of the partner fund TVF. In his free time, he is often found in nature, either on his racing bike or in hiking boots with a good camera.
Peter Boymans
Our entire PE and VC fund architecture is structured by our CFO Peter Boymans, who pulls all the commercial threads in his hand. He has a degree in business administration and is a State-certified balance accountant. As a partner, he is also responsible for the fund structure of the partner fund TVF. In his free time, he spends time with his family and finds balance(harmony) in outdoor activities.
Humberto Duarte
Humberto Duarte has been successfully guiding medium-sized companies in growth financing, shareholder changes and succession planning for almost 25 years. He is also responsible for S-UBG’s PR and marketing activities and manages the activities of our partner network PIN. Anyone who would like to talk about football or travelling, among other things, can talk to him at any time.
Sabine Biergans
Sabine Biergans is a business administrator and mediator, and at S-UBG she is responsible for all organizational matters related to management and corporate events. She has a keen sense for the needs and moods of the people she interacts with. In her free time, she can be found wherever she can stay active – or immersed in a good book, as a captivating story captivates her just as much as an unfinished to-do list.
Dr. Cäcilie Chwallek
In her doctoral thesis Cäcilie explored how personality influences investors’ decision-making. This research sparked her interest in the VC world, where she focuses on identifying visionary entrepreneurs and helping them scale their ideas. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, and meeting friends. “I’m passionate about the founders who turn their great ideas into something truly remarkable.”
Sabrina Donhauser
Sabrina is the primary voice and face of our corporate group and has been a trusted link between management, the team and our portfolio companies for many years.
With a strong sense of tact and a clear eye for people and processes, she ensures smooth operations and is present wherever oversight, closeness and responsibility are required.
Outside of work, she values spending time with her family and friends.
Beate Federsel
After studying business administration at RWTH Aachen University and training as a controlling analyst, Beate Federsel has been a senior investment manager for medium-sized companies. In her free time, she can often be found on her mountain bike or doing other outdoor activities.
Birgit Götzenich
Birgit Götzenich is an industrial administrator with a degree in business administration and has been part of the S-UBG Group team for more than 25 years. In her position, she processes the figures of our portfolio companies and supports internal controlling and accounting. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being physically active.
Jeannine Schimanowski
Jeannine is part of our finance and accounting team and is responsible for the accounting of our group of companies. She has completed her education as a tax clerk and is an absolute family woman who is always wholeheartedly involved.
Sara Seyhan
Sara has successfully completed her training as a management assistant in office communication, and we’re delighted that she’s staying on to continue supporting our team with such great dedication. In her free time, she most enjoys spending time with her family.
Christian Schnorrenberg
Christian is a trained banker and is responsible in our team for the preparation of annual financial statements as well as cash management for all companies within the corporate group. As a certified savings bank specialist, he draws on many years of experience as a finance manager in a pharmaceutical and biotech company. In his free time, he most enjoys spending time with his family.
